Peoples and Sovereignty in the European Union

Events / Fri 28 Nov 2025 17:30

The question of sovereignty and the role of the state in Europe remains one of the most pressing issues of our time. Across the continent, debates about self-determination, national identity, and political autonomy continue to shape societies and influence public life.Understanding these dynamics is essential not only for political scientists and policymakers but also for activists, journalists, and citizens interested in the future of Europe. This event provides a unique opportunity to explore these themes, bringing together scholars, parliamentarians, and civil society leaders to share insights and exchange perspectives about the challenges and opportunities for sovereignty movements across Europe.

The event “Peoples and Sovereignty in the European Union” will take place on 28–29 November at Bizkaia Aretoa in Bilbao. The program includes round tables, workshops, group activities, and networking opportunities, allowing participants to learn, discuss, and actively engage with the topics. The school combines learning with interaction, giving participants both insight and practical experience in addressing contemporary issues of sovereignty in Europe.
