Coppieters Foundation signs memorandum of Understanding with IRAI – the Research Institute on the Self-Determination of Peoples and National Independence in Montreal.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place in Montréal on 15 September 2025, in the framework of a high-level mission by the Coppieters Foundation and the European Free Alliance (EFA) to Québec.
The formal ceremony was hosted at IRAI’s headquarters, in the presence of guest witnesses from Québec’s civil society organisations, academia and think tanks and representatives of the European Free Alliance, and Members of the European Parliament from diverse political groups.
The partnership aims to consolidate and strengthen cooperation between the two organisations. It defines a framework to:
share knowledge and research publications,
enhance mutual visibility across academic networks and audiences,
organise joint events and initiatives,
collaborate on global forums,
This is the first partnership agreement Coppieters Foundation signs with an organisation outside of Europe. It consolidate’s Coppieters outreach efforts at contributing to global debates and reinforces the strategic effort to provide evidence-based data and analysis, insights and critical thinking in international fora, including at the UN, to define and policies that favor diversity and reinforce democratic institutions.
Further, Quebec is reference case for multilevel governance, promotion of linguistic and cultural diversity and peaceful conflict resolution.
With this agreement we look forward to the journey ahead and to many fruiful collaborations in the coming years.
